Jobes Dam will receive repairs that should be completed by October. To facilitate repairs, a six foot draw down will take place, which will affect the Phillips Chain of Lakes, including Long Lake, Wilson Flowage, Elk Lake, and Lake Duroy. Starting on September 5th, the water level will drop six inches per day to prevent potential fish entrapment. Once construction is complete, the level will fill at a rate of six inches per day, as well, with normal levels being reestablished by mid-October, weather permitting.
The Department of Natural Resources would like to remind any residents planning to perform shoreline repairs during the draw down to be sure to acquire proper permitting prior to beginning any repairs. For permitting information, you can contact Doug Cassina, Water Management Specialist, at 715-634-7463.
