Its pavilion has an open area with picnic tables, a kitchen, and restrooms. There is a boat launch to enter Elk Lake, along with various fishing piers and docks along the lake. You can also enjoy basketball courts, disc golf, a volleyball court, and a playground. The Forward Splash Pad is also located in Elk Lake Park, for young and those young-at-heart to enjoy during the hot summer days. The Prevail Stage hosts Music in the Park every Thursday evening in July and August. Starting in 2021, the Independence Day fireworks were held in Elk Lake Park. It is also home to the arts & crafts fair held during the 4th of July celebrations. Winterfest’s bonfire also takes place in the park. Phillips: Chain-O-Lakes Campground On the other side of Elk Lake, just off County Road H, is the public campground. Phillips: Sokol Park Home to the Lidice Monument, this park is located on the corner of Fifield and Ash Streets and also features a playground and picnic area. The Lidice Monument is on the state and national registries of historic places. The monument is in memory of Lidice, a village in Czechoslovakia, which was destroyed by the Nazi Gestapo on June 10, 1942. Men were shot and killed and women and children were taken to concentration camps. On June 24, 1942, Lezaky fell to the Nazi Regime, with all inhabitants being shot and killed. The marker remembers both tragedies. Many Czechoslovakian people first settled in Phillips making this monument a significant piece of history. Phillips: Forward Park Located on First Street off of Flambeau Avenue, this park has three softball / baseball fields. Phillips: Wisconsin Concrete Park The late Fred Smith, a local artist, created various sculptures out of wooden frames wrapped with mink wire, cement, broken glass, and other objects.
