| MARK FUHR STEPS DOWN AS PRICE COUNTY'S DISTRICT ATTORNEY; TAKES NEW POSITION
Governor Evers announced that he is seeking applications for the appointment of Price County's district attorney position, which was recently vacated by Mark Fuhr, who held the position since 2002. "It has been my honor and privilege to serve the citizens of Price County for the past 17+ years," Fuhr said.
The last state budget created a new position, a full-time assistant district attorney covering Price and Taylor Counties. However, the counties were struggling to fill the position until Fuhr decided to accept it. He stated it was in his family's best interest to accept the assistant district attorney position. Fuhr figures it will be easier for Price County to find a new district attorney, which is a position that pays more.
The new appointee will serve the remainder of Mark Fuhr's term, which ends in January 2021. Fuhr will be serving full-time in Price County until his previous position has been filled.
To apply for Price County's newly-vacated district attorney position, applicants can find an application form available on the Apply to Serve page of Governor Ever's website, http://www.evers.wi.gov
