Forward Bank - http://www.forward.bank - worked with the Federal Home Loan Bank (FHLB) to help local charities through the Guide Our Giving Event. They did so by maximizing grant funds and using a loan program from FHLB to benefit non-profits in communities where Forward Bank has offices.
Forward Bank asked the teams in their various banks to nominate non-profits in their communities that they felt needed additional support. Using Facebook, over 15,000 votes were cast which would end up granting $10,000 each to eleven Wisconsin charities.
“Our team was committed to creatively using the opportunity created by the FHLB to give additional support for charities that need it during this unprecedented time,” stated Bill Sennholz, CEO of Forward Bank. "The recipients will have a wonderful opportunity to invest those funds in the projects that help them fulfill their missions.”
Catkins Animal Rescue in Park Falls and The Red Apple Center in Phillips were the two recipients in Price County.
Catkins expressed gratitude on their Facebook page, stating, "Thank you to all our wonderful supporters for voting for us in Forward Bank’s Guide Our Giving event! Thanks to you we were awarded a generous donation of $10,000! We would also like to thank Forward Bank for holding this event and supporting not only us but non-profits and charities in many of our surrounding communities! Without the support of our community we would not be able to do what we do helping hundreds of pets every year."
The Red Apple Center also took to Facebook to share their appreciation, stating, "We would like to thank Forward Bank and our voters for choosing us in the Guide Our Giving Event. We are so grateful for the $10,000 donation and continue to be blown away by the community's support. Thank you!"
