Job Description:

POSITION SUMMARY: The Sr. HR Generalist will assist with the administration of the day-to-day operations of the human resources and safety functions and duties. The Sr. HR Generalist will carry out the responsibilities in some or all of the following functional areas: departmental development, HRIS, employee relations, training and development, benefits, compensation, safety, organizational development, executive administration, and employment. This individual will demonstrate sound judgment, tact, interpersonal skills, a high level of respect for people, and a strong interest in building a caring culture.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Talent Acquisition and On-boarding
Support talent acquisition by conducting initial screening phone calls, scheduling interviews, and participating in interviews
Build strong company brand through promotion of our unique culture & leadership approach
Perform background checks and contact candidates to plan for drug screening
Lead new hire orientation for BWP Phillips site

Data Analysis and Continuous Improvement
Create and maintain weekly and monthly HRIS reporting
Work with the HR Leadership to administer and implement company policies and practices
Share developmental ideas for HR process improvement
Compensation and Benefits
Track and monitor the performance/developmental review program
Answer employee questions regarding benefit programs such as life, health, dental and disability insurances, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, and employee assistance
Lead Wellness initiatives at BWP Phillips site, collaborating with wellness committee and other divisional wellbeing leaders
Communicate and collaborate with payroll team to ensure flow of HR information to facilitate timely payroll processing
Recordkeeping and Legal Compliance
Maintain knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensure local compliance
File documents for personnel records, benefits records, and other records as required.
Administer the and unemployment claim processes
Administer FMLA leaves of absence
Process documentation to support Visa requests

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Ability to deal effectively with a global multi-cultural team
Superior organizational skills with strong attention to detail
Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints
Ability to work independently and as a team to achieve established goals
Strong interpersonal skills needed to develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others while striving for collaboration and demonstrating professionalism
Critical thinking, logic, and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, and approaches to problems
Self-motivated, high energy, creative and innovative thinker
Proven ability to handle multiple projects and complete tasks efficiently and effectively.
Ability to analyze data gathered from diagnostic tools and HR metrics
Immediate working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

EDUCATION AND KNOWLEDGE:

A Bachelor’s Degree in HR or Business Administration preferred
5+ years of HR experience
WorkDay system experience is preferred
ADP system experience is a plus
Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines

TRAVEL:

Travel may be required approximately once a quarter, or as needed, for training and team meetings in Southern Wisconsin.
