| Sheriff Hopes to Spread Extra Holiday Cheer in Price County
Price County Sheriff Brian Schmidt is asking community members to help spread extra holiday cheer in our communities with a unique type of Giving Tree.
Partnered with local businesses and community members, the Giving Tree will allow a few 3rd through 5th graders from the elementary schools in Phillips, Park Falls, and Prentice to "shop" for gifts for their family members at no cost. The student shoppers will be selected by their schools based on need and conduct. Students will then be allowed to "shop" with local law enforcement personnel. The students will experience good shopping, fun, and enjoy some holiday treats.
If you are interested in helping, you can provide donations of money, gift cards to local businesses, or unwrapped gifts for people of all ages. If you donate money, department personnel will shop for age-appropriate gifts based on the needs of the families selected and have the gifts under the Giving Tree where students can "shop" to find gifts for their family members.
The sheriff's office also welcomes donations of winter gloves and hats so that Price County kids in need have warm clothing for the winter.
All donations should be submitted to the Price County Sheriff's Office by the end of the business day on Monday, December 3rd.
For more information, contact Lynn Wallace or Lieutenant Gabe Lind at the Price County Sheriff's Office.
